Trend Watch: The Brighter, The Better

I love watching new hair trends, whether they are coming or
going. Now there are so many ways to add
color and texture, the options are endless.
With more options, women now have the freedom to accessorize their hair to
match their outfit so you can look
polished head to toe (literally!). I
recently came across two other upcoming color trends which are also both
temporary and easy to DIY.
Bright colors are EVERYWHERE!! I know
adding bright colors to your hair is not new, however previously it was more of
a punk-rocker look, something that Avril Lavigne always had. But about one year ago I started noticing
more of my clients requesting bright colored highlights like pink, red, or
blue. At about the same time, more women
were requesting the ombre look which was being rocked by all the A-list
celebs. Now the two looks have morphed
into one with bright colored ombres. I
absolutely love the way this looks; it’s fun, sexy and feminine.

I’m sure you’re thinking there is no way you could wear this to work or school
however the beauty of what has come to be known as “hair chalking” is it is
temporary! You can get this super cute
look and just wash it out after and return to our natural color. In fact, I love this so much that I am currently
looking for a supplier (I will keep you posted!). With that being said, I would also love to
hear what you think of it.
If you wanted to have a thick highlight of bright bubblegum pink you would
typically have to first bleach your hair and then dye it. Even when you do this and put your hair
through all the chemical torture the fact is the dye would fade and would not
look so hot after a couple of washes.
Clip-in highlights are a MUCH better option (in my opinion) for 5 MAJOR
#1 They are temporary (remove in seconds!)
#2 Get a few colors and you can mix and match with your outfit
#3 No chemicals, no glue, NO DAMAGE!
#4 DIY (easy) – don’t need to pay to
have them applied at a salon
#5 Affordable, reusable and long lasting
I have worn them myself and they are
also super comfortable. I forget I’m
even wearing them!
(This is a pic of me wearing my bright pink clip-in highlight. Unfortunately the picture doesn't show how awesome the color really is.)
There are also printed clip-in highlights available now with hearts, skulls, cheetah
print and different designs. I have not
tried this look out yet, and would love to hear from you if you have. I’m just not sold on it yet, might be a
little too busy for me however I would have to try it out myself to know for
I always love hearing your opinions through blog comments, facebook or emails but
this time I REALLY want to hear your opinion on these trends. Do you think Picasso Hair Feathers should
start suppling these as well? Let me know!
